The ÖRV is committed to promoting the human–dog relationship
through dog-friendly, scientifically based training and activities.

Search and rescue dog work is more than just meeting for training. It requires
Trust and Teamwork
Especially in challenging or dangerous situations, whether during training, examinations, or actual missions, it is crucial to work with people you can trust blindly and who support each other unconditionally. That’s why, alongside training, the social aspect and shared activities must not be neglected. To ensure this, the board is not only responsible for organizing training sessions but also for arranging examinations, joint workshops, trips to tournaments, and many other activities that provide enjoyable variety from the often demanding training routine.
What we do
our trainings
To provide our dogs with appropriate mental and physical stimulation and to prepare our human-dog teams for examinations and missions, we meet several times a week to train obedience, agility, and the essential skills required for search and rescue. This includes on-site training as well as building motivation, indication training, search endurance, control, tactics, and micro-localization, which we sometimes enhance with scent detection training using the brick wall.
